Newly appointed Chef De Mission for Cook Islands Sports National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) Michelle Paiti has departed Rarotonga yesterday evening Friday 21st of August 2026, to attend her first OSEP Chef De Mission Course. Paiti via email explained that the course is designed to support Chef de Missions in preparing for the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 and to strengthen the understanding of planning, leadership and operational responsibilities associated with the role. CISNOC have not appointed a Chef de Mission for LA28 yet, so this a great opportunity for me to attend to help me get a broader understanding of the key components of the role, workshop will take place from Monday 24th August - Thursday 27th August in Nadi, Fiji. The workshop is important to help review existing Games Delivery Plans, timelines and identify operational gaps ahead of the Olympic Games LA28. CISNOC will report more once the course has concluded
