Carter Makira is a junior Cook Islands swimmer based in Sydney, a backstroke and individual-medley athlete who has already raced at the Pacific Mini Games, the Oceania Championships, and the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

He lives in Sydney and trains with Knox Pymble Swim Club in Wahroonga, New South Wales, while representing the Cook Island Swimming Federation.
